I chose to work with ceramic tiles because ceramic tiles you could find everywhere. I’ve noticed that wall tiles was easier to work with than floor tiles so I used mostly wall ceramic tiles. First I used the hammer to create small mosaic tiles which came out in irregular forms. Step 2 was laying the tiles in a harmonic way to get the right picture. I drew the bean structure on a huge paper and also drew the outlines by using a 30cm ruler. I was gluing the mosaic tiles on a mesh by using a type of high aggressive chemical which was not so healthy. We used to live in my wife family house at island Cyprus back in the days. It has a large balcony which turned to my studio after a while. You might know that very small useless pieces getting created as well, during working with mosaic tiles while cutting ceramics by using a hammer. It was impossible to make a mosaic work with this kinda amateur tools in a balcony so I decided to rent a small space which wasn’t bigger then the balcony.
