Tile Design on Master Bathroom – Yacht
In 2010 we were commissioned by a yacht building company to create a Mosaic Tile design (glass mosaic) that represents the identity or symbol (seahorse) of the yacht.
The material and design
We have proposed glass mosaics for this project because this design will be applied to the wall in the master bathroom of the 27-meter-long motor yacht and for this reason lightweight material comes into question. The original seahorse pictures were sent to us by the yacht building company. Before we start to create the mosaic image, we always make a drawing for the best conversion of the image to mosaic image. On such a drawing are all kinds of notes about the colors and details that simplify the creation of the mosaic.
2 Cm x 2 cm Glass Mosaics
The glass mosaic is 4 mm thick and each has a size of 2 Cm x 2 Cm. It would also be possible to create this Mosaic Tile Design project from 1 Cm x1 Cm mosaics. Since the design is not so complex we have chosen 2 Cm x 2 Cm mosaics. Mosaics with a larger surface are used so that they find a greater opportunity to adhere to the mosaic adhesive. In this case, it must also be remembered that during the start of the yacht engine a large vibration occurs, which plays a major role in the mosaic size.
