Freelance Art Instructor/Tutor

Since 2019, I have been working as a freelance instructor, without teaching certification, in the field of visual arts, leading courses/activities for children, teenagers, and adults. I customize course content and duration according to needs. The Volkshochschule München and the Kreisvolkshochschule LK Harburg These are just a few examples of where I conduct in-person and online visual arts. Parallel, I am Albert Einstein High School I work as an Educational Assistant and took over the Art Club there on August 1, 2023. Project weeks at various schools are also a topic where both the students and I have a lot of fun, for example, like the Art Projekt Week at Brecht-Schule in Hamburg (25. - 29.9-2023. am 25.-29.9.2023.

In terms of content, my courses/activities are designed to introduce participants to the world of Visuell Art to bring them closer. In doing so, they discover various artists as well as applied techniques and understand their motivation. Especially for children, I simplify the basics to convey them in an exciting and understandable way.

Projektwoche-Kunst: Brecht-Schule Hamburg

Nachhaltigkeit trifft Street Art an der Brecht-Schule Hamburg

In der Zeit vom 25. bis 29. September 2023 führte ich an der Brecht-Schule Hamburg eine Projektwoche im Bereich Kunst durch, deren Hauptthema „sustainability,“ war. Als erfahrener bildender Artist in der Street Art-Welt gestaltete und leitete ich diese Woche mit 13 Schüler:innen.

Diese Projektwoche – Kunst an der Brecht-Schule Hamburg ermöglichte den Schüler:innen nicht nur kreative Selbstentfaltung, sondern vermittelte auch wichtige Kenntnisse über Nachhaltigkeit und Street Art (Schablonen-Graffiti). Sie trugen zur Sensibilisierung für Umweltfragen und zur Förderung künstlerischer Fähigkeiten bei.

Das Ziel

Unser Ziel war es, das Thema Nachhaltigkeit durch die Ausdrucksform der street art zu behandeln. Dazu erhielten wir eine Wand am Schuleingang zur Verfügung, auf der wir das Schulsymbol, einen Banksy-Charakter, der auf einen QR-Code hinweist, und zwei Überwachungskameras mit der traditionellen Stencil Art-Technik gestalteten.

Nachhaltige Anwendung

Die gesamte Aktion wurde nachhaltig durchgeführt, ohne Verwendung von Plastikfolien oder ähnlichen Materialien. Stattdessen verwendeten wir ausschließlich Pappe, Holzstöcke und Papierklebeband. Gleichzeitig ermutigten wir die Schüler:innen, ihre eigene Meinung zur Nachhaltigkeit mit Pinsel und Farbe auszudrücken, indem sie einen Banksy-Charakter mit der Stencil Art-Technik gestalteten und sprühten.

Der Ablauf der Projektwoche war wie folgt:

Ein Vortrag über Street Art, Tagging und Nachhaltigkeit mit Hilfe eines Beamers.
Vorbereitung der Stencils.
Besprühen der Stencils auf Zeitungspapier.
Übertragung der eigenen Meinungen zur Nachhaltigkeit auf Zeitungspapier mit Pinsel und Farbe.
Besprühen der Schulwand mit Hilfe der Stencils.
Tagging der Werke mit den von den Schüler:innen gestalteten Tags.

Die Schüler:innen lernten während dieser Projektwoche Folgendes:

A. Im Bereich Street Art:

Die Unterscheidung zwischen Street Art und Vandalismus.
Die Auswirkungen von Vandalismus auf die Künstler.
Bekannte Werke und Merkmale berühmter Street Art-Künstler.
Die traditionelle Stencil Art-Technik von Banksy.
Die Schaffung nachhaltiger Kunstwerke.
Die Umsetzung des besprühens von Stencils.

B. Im Bereich Nachhaltigkeit:

Warum wärmt sich die Erde auf?
Die Auswirkungen von Treibhausgasen.
Die aktuelle Umwelt-, Wirtschafts- und soziale Lage in den Branchen Textil, Arzneimittel und Fleischproduktion.
Welche bekannten Gesichter bzw. Schauspieler:innen, Rapper u.ä. führen bereits ein Nachhaltiges Leben?
Was kann der Einzelne gegen den Klimawandel tun?

Die Entscheidung, das Thema Nachhaltigkeit mit Hilfe der Banksy Street Art Technik (Schablonen-Graffiti) als Projektwoche mit den Schüler:innen durchzuführen, war aus verschiedenen Gründen von großer Bedeutung und sinnvoll.

Die Methode – Street Art

Erstens ermöglichte diese Herangehensweise eine innovative und fesselnde Methode, um Nachhaltigkeit zu vermitteln. Street Art ist ein äußerst lebendiges und ansprechendes Medium, das die Aufmerksamkeit der Schüler:innen leicht auf sich zieht. Die Verwendung von Schablonen und Graffiti-Techniken eröffnete eine künstlerische Ausdrucksform, die in der heutigen Jugendkultur stark präsent ist. Dadurch konnten die Schüler:innen in ihrem eigenen kreativen Stil über das Thema Nachhaltigkeit nachdenken und sich damit auseinandersetzen.

Banksy

Zweitens half die Wahl der Banksy Street Art Technik dabei, die Grenze zwischen Kunst und sozialem Aktivismus zu erkunden. Banksy selbst ist bekannt für seine politischen und sozialen Botschaften, die er durch seine Werke ausdrückt. Dies gab den Schüler:innen die Möglichkeit, nicht nur künstlerisch tätig zu sein, sondern auch über Nachhaltigkeit als gesellschaftliches Anliegen nachzudenken und es in ihrer Kunst auszudrücken.

Zusammenarbeit

Drittens förderte das Projekt die Zusammenarbeit und das Engagement der Schüler:innen. Gemeinsam an einem Wandbild zu arbeiten, ermutigte sie, Ideen auszutauschen, zu diskutieren und als Team zu handeln. Das Endergebnis, ein eindrucksvolles Wandgemälde, war ein sichtbarer Beweis für ihre kollektiven Anstrengungen und ihr Engagement für das Thema Nachhaltigkeit.

Viertens lehrte dieses Projekt die Schüler:innen, dass Nachhaltigkeit nicht nur ein abstraktes Konzept ist, sondern auch in der Kunst umgesetzt werden kann. Die Verwendung nachhaltiger Materialien und Techniken, wie die ausschließliche Verwendung von Pappe anstelle von Plastikfolien, vermittelte wichtige Lektionen über umweltfreundliches Handeln und die Verantwortung gegenüber unserer Welt.

Insgesamt trug die Entscheidung, das Thema Nachhaltigkeit mit der Banksy Street Art Technik als Projektwoche – Kunst umzusetzen, dazu bei, die Schüler:innen auf kreative und tiefgründige Weise für ein wichtiges gesellschaftliches Anliegen zu sensibilisieren. Es ermöglichte ihnen, ihre Gedanken auszudrücken, zusammenzuarbeiten und nachhaltige Praktiken in ihrem eigenen künstlerischen Schaffen zu integrieren, was eine wertvolle und lehrreiche Erfahrung darstellte.

Weil ich mit über 24 Jahre Erfahrung weiß, dass Kunst für Museen und „art in architecture oder Art in architecture“ zwei grundlegend unterschiedliche Dinge sind. Wenn Sie eine Kunstwerkstatt und einen Künstler beauftragen, um für Sie ein Wandmosaik oder eine Wandverkleidung zu gestalten, dann gestalte ich Kunst für Ihren Bau, nicht für ein Museum. Das macht einen erheblichen Unterschied, besonders in Bezug auf den Preis.

Ein innovativer, 45 minütlicher und zweisprachiger (Deutsch & Englisch) Vortrag, das dazu dient, das Verständnis für Kunst und den Unterschied zwischen Kunst (Street Art) und Vandalismus bei Schülern der 5. bis 13. Klasse zu fördern.

Mein Ziel

In der heutigen Zeit sind Jugendliche von einer Fülle visueller Eindrücke umgeben, darunter auch Street Art. Leider besteht oft Verwirrung darüber, wo die Grenze zwischen Kunst und Vandalismus verläuft. Mein Ziel ist es, Schülern die Werkzeuge zu geben, um diese Unterscheidung zu treffen und ein tieferes Verständnis für kreative Ausdrucksformen zu entwickeln.

Mein Street Art Vortrag „Kunst vs. Vandalismus: Eine Perspektive auf Street Art“ konzentriert sich auf Folgendes:

Differenzierung: Wir erörtern den Unterschied zwischen künstlerischem Ausdruck und Vandalismus im Kontext von Street Art.

- Erstellung eines Mosaikwerks in Gaudi Stil.

  - Handwerkliche Erstellung von unterschiedlichen geometrischen Formen mit Mosaiken.

Dies ermöglicht Ihnen genügend Raum, um die Stencil Art Technik komfortabel zu erlernen und anzuwenden. Ein Teil eines Tisches oder eine ähnliche Fläche eignet sich ideal, um Ihre kreativen Materialien und Werkzeuge ordentlich zu organisieren. Dieser Arbeitsbereich kann beispielsweise ein Teil eines Tisches sein, der ausreichend Platz bietet, um Ihre Materialien und Werkzeuge ordentlich anzuordnen. Ihre gewählte Umgebung sollte gut beleuchtet sein.
